The first recording sessions for the POP Project occurred in April 2009 _ La Frette Studios. For the debut session, Benoit invited two famous names of French jazz to participate in a trio: François Méchali (double bass) and François Laizeau (drums).
Always sharing his music and universe with artists and friends, Benoit also welcomed the wonderful vocal talents of Mélanie Vanham onto the POP Project.

Bio
Pleasure is definitely one of the driving forces that push Benoit Greslebin to play. He has an irrepressibly artistic personality, unrestricted by genre boundaries or rules. The only pursuit he does dogmatically follow is the unreserved drive to share his music!
A child of the 80s with a highly musical family, Benoit began by playing the accordion as a child. It was after being enthralled by the legendary Michel Petrucciani that he graduated to the piano, and began the journey which led him to here.
At a young age, he began to mix on the local music scene, and was drawn to the sounds of Parisian African and Afro-American musicians. It was 2000 when he formed his first group: The OSMOSE Trio, a group exploring a romantic jazz style by injecting their own personalities into the mix.
By 2002, Benoit became a Tremplin Jeunes Talents award-winner at the festival of Saint-Germain des Près, after which he found work gigging at concerts and festivals. He served as a sideman in the David Jean Baptiste quintet, and then as a bandleader at Tanjazz, Moroccos premier jazz festival.
Despite these performance successes, Benoit remains ever-driven to compose, and eventually returned to writing music. Not recognising distinctions between traditional and contemporary jazz, Benoit engaged modern pop sensibilities in the crafting of his most recent project POP.
Over two years, he has experimented and developed his unique blend of jazz and pop: preserving the invention and sensitivity of the former, and embracing the fun and joy of the latter. For these sessions, he invited noted French jazz musicians François Méchali (double bass) and François Laizeau (drums) to contribute, and encouraged them to re-imagine their own sounds with a pop resonance. And finally, he is preparing to unleash this brand of music upon his audiences.
